A Prince George man has been sentenced to three months in jail while his alleged partner continues to face several charges in relation to a reported string of vehicle break-ins in the Pinewood neighbourhood last month.
Mathew Simon Jones, 46, received the term Friday in Prince George provincial court for possession of a break-in instrument. He was also sentenced to 30 days in jail for breach of an undertaking or recognizance and was sentenced to 18 months probation on both counts.
Arby Lee Bai, 44, continues to face charges of theft under $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments as well as assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and willfully resisting arrest.
The two were arrested July 8 when police were called to Jackson Crescent at about 4:20 a.m.
Jones was arrested at the scene, but Bai tried to flee and when police caught up to him on Campbell Avenue, he allegedly pulled out a knife that the police officer wrestled away from him.
Bai continued to struggle and when a second officer arrived, a second knife was found in Bai's belt before he was handcuffed and taken into custody, according to RCMP.
Bai remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 5.
