Keep an eye out the window tonight, Prince George.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning as of 6:45 p.m. this evening (Aug. 8).
The agency is calling for strong wind gusts, heavy rain, and nickel-sized hail as a thunderstorm is reportedly moving southeast more than 50 km away from Salmon Valley at a speed of 30 km/h.
The chances are 60 per cent for the northern section of the city to witness the conditions.
Residents are being reminded that the potential heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
If the thunder roars, go indoors!
