The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) has approved a large piece of infrastructure near Valemount.

Yesterday (Dec. 20), following its monthly board meeting, the issuance of a Temporary Use Permit was approved for a work camp to be set up by Trans Mountain Pipeline Unlimited Liability Corporation (ULC) close to the Village.

The camp is in conjunction with the proposed Trans Mountain expansion project.

The RDFFG says the camp will have temporary ATCO trailers containing dorms, kitchens and recreational rooms, as well as associated parking.

The camp will hold roughly 600 people with the capability to expand to hold 900 people.
