The Career Technical Centre electronic students at CNC ended their college semester in a flurry of lights, sparks and sounds from their final projects.
The 12 high school students came up devices like electronic musical instruments, a high voltage travelling arc, sequenced lighting system, a video-audio selector box, an electronic security system, and quiz boxes that will be distributed to local schools.
CTC, which has been operating for more than 10 years at CNC, allows high school students to take year of college studies while still in high school. Now the students will return to their respective high schools to graduate in June.
CTC gives students a unique opportunity to become employed in trades right out of high school, and has been one way to address the critical shortage of skilled trades workers.
