RCMP are on the lookout for a suspect after receiving a report of stranger danger near a local elementary school this morning.
Police were told that at about 8 a.m., a man driving a car pulled up alongside some youth near the corner of 17th Avenue and Hemlock Street, close to Ron Brent Elementary School, offered them some food and then got out of his car.
The youth continued on their way when he tried to speak to them, police said.
He is described as Caucasian, with dark hair, about 5’10” tall with a muscular build and wearing a grey sweatshirt. The car is described as a green, four-door hatchback, possibly an import model.
RCMP say they would like to speak to those involved and are asking that anyone in that area with security cameras to contact the detachment at 250-561-3300.
Police are also reminding people that it is not appropriate to approach school-aged children they do not know.
