The Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a deceased person located on Salmon River Forest Service Road in Prince George at about 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9.
Frontline officers attended the scene and located a deceased person just off the roadway.
The North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) is conducting the investigation and is working closely in partnership with the Prince George RCMP and the BC Coroners Service.
The public can expect to see an increase of police officers in the area for the next several days while the investigation continues.
The death appears to be an isolated incident and no potential danger to the public at this time.
The North District Major Crime Unit is seeking any information the public may have relating to this incident or may have seen anything suspicious in the area.
