Prince George RCMP have two men in custody following two robberies and one attempted robbery late Sunday night.
Police believe Calvin Douglas Hiemstra, 26, and Alexander John Schmidt, 23, are responsible for all three incidents, two of which occurred within minutes of each other.
RCMP were first called to the 2300 block of Ferry Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. where a 23-year-old man told officers he turned over his backpack and wallet to a man wearing a bandana over his face who had threatened him.
The suspect then got back into a blue Dodge Durango SUV being driven by someone else, leaving the victim unharmed, police were told.
A few minutes later, RCMP received another report of a robbery, this time in the 1200 block of Douglas Street where a 20-year-old man said he was approached by what police believe to be the same suspect from the same SUV. Again, the victim complied and was unharmed.
Police also believe Hiemstra and Schmidt were behind an attempted robbery of two males near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Alward Street around the same time.
The two were arrested Monday morning and each faces two counts of robbery and one count each of uttering threats and attempted robbery.
Both live in Prince George although Hiemstra just moved here from the Vernon area, RCMP said.
