Students at Prince George secondary school are being urged to take precautions following a report suspicious vehicle late Thursday morning.

They've been asked to walk in groups or with a friend and to go to a safe place if feeling threatened, school principal Sheralee Thibault said in a notice sent out to parents a few hours later.

The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. and the suspect is described as an Asian man, about 30 years old, and wearing a blue and yellow striped short sleeve shirt and driving a new-style white minivan with ridges on the doors, according to the letter.

The incident has been reported to Prince George RCMP.
