A Prince George resident is facing charges after a stolen vehicle was recovered in Burns Lake.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Monday, members of the Burns Lake RCMP responded to a report of a white cargo van driving erratically along Highway 16 West. At one point, the vehicle was said to have almost caused a head-on collision.
Police located the van and identified it as the stolen white 2004 Ford F450 cube van that went missing from the 1000 block of Central Street West earlier Monday.
A 53-year-old Prince George man was arrested and will appear in provincial court today. The Burns Lake and Prince George RCMP detachments will be recommending charges of theft of vehicle and possession of stolen property.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
