A man was sentenced to 16 months in jail Wednesday in part for his involvement in a series of vehicle thefts slightly more than a year ago.
Michael Ryan Burwell, 33, was issued the term for seven counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000. He was also sentenced to three years probation in Prince George provincial court.
Burwell and Kyle Tony Baraniuk, 25, were arrested in early June 2013 after police responded to reports of pickup trucks stolen locally.
Burwell was arrested near a home in the Blackwater Road area where a motorhome reported stolen in Edmonton was found.
Baraniuk's case is scheduled to go to trial in late July.
