Prince George RCMP released numbers Thursday from 11 days of stepped-up enforcement in the downtown and area.
From May 15 to 25, a dozen people with arrest warrants were identified and arrested while officers entered 40 "self-generated files" under either the Criminal Code or the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act which, in turn, have led to 10 reports to Crown counsel seeking charges.
"These investigations are in addition to the calls for service that were reported to police by the public," RCMP said.
As well, roughly 125 tickets were issued under provincial legislation including the Motor Vehicle Act and the Liquor Control and Licencing Act, mainly for bicycle-related violations and open liquor.
And 10 people were arrested for being intoxicated in public and unable to care for themselves.
"These actions have already resulted in a noticeable reduction of open drug use, drug trafficking and mischief related incidents in these areas of our community," RCMP said.
"Our officers are also seeing a reduction of violations of the Motor Vehicle Act as it relates to riding bicycles. These trends are expected to continue."
