Sharma is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, breach of undertaking or recognizance and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

Around 1 a.m. on Dec. 18, police responded to a report of a stabbing and arrived on scene to find the 20-year-old victim, who is still in the hospital for his injuries.

Witness reports of an older model, green GMC Jimmy seen leaving the area led police to located the vehicle.

Sharma, the driver, was arrested. Sharma is believed to be a resident of Vancouver, but is known to frequent the Prince George area.

RCMP have determined that the suspect and victim were known to each other, and said the incident is a targeted act.

Sharma is remanded in custody until Jan. 4.
