Is spring going to rear its ugly side to northern B.C.?
It may appear to do just that later today (April 27) as a snowfall warning has been issued for the Pine Pass by Environment Canada.
According to the national service, as of 10:40 a.m. this morning, up to 10 cm of snow could accumulate in the area north of Prince George as a frontal system forms and heads northeast.
The white stuff is expected to begin falling in the afternoon and could continue through the night into early Wednesday morning (April 28).
The warning expands from the Pine Pass into the Peace River region.
Essential travellers are being reminded that winter tires must still be on vehicles commuting along Highway 97 until the end of April as conditions could become hazardous or suddenly change at higher elevations.
