Prince George RCMP are warning of a spike in daytime break and enters in two areas of the city.
Police have responded to an "unusually high" number of such reports for homes in the vicinity of Connaught Hill Park, near 17th Avenue and Victoria Street, and in the Crescents neighbourhood, running from Winnipeg Street to Highway 97 and from the Nechako River to 15th Avenue.
"We are asking persons to keep an 'extra eye' out for suspicious persons or activities, particularly in these neighbourhoods," Douglass said.
Anyone who sees a break and enter in progress is urged to immediately call 9-1-1 while those who see a suspicious person, vehicle or event are asked to call the detachment's non-emergency number, 250-561-3300 and an officer will be assigned to investigate.
