A Twitter town hall will be held Tuesday evening for the provincial government's rural highway safety and speed review.

The event runs for an hour, 7 p.m. start, and will be hosted by Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone (@toddstoneBC), supported by the ministry (@TranBC).

They will pose questions and take queries and feedback on the issue.

To participate, it's recommended that you use a web-based program such as Hootsuite or TweetChat, or an application such as TweetDeck and set up a new stream called #BCSpeedReview.

If you use a Twitter app, enter #BCSpeedReview in the hashtag search box at the top of the screen after you connect your Twitter account to the program.

These tools will give you a running list of all the tweets and re-tweets for the chat.

Remember to include #BCSpeedReview in your tweets, so they will be included in the conversation and recorded in the archive at the end of the chat and when responding to a tweet, use the reply button. That way, the conversation will remain threaded so people can see who you are responding to and what they said.

The public consultation also includes an online engagement at www.gov.bc.ca/safetyandspeedreview/ and public forums, including one in Prince George on set for Tues., Jan. 7 at the Ramada, 444 George St., from 5 to 8 p.m. It's one of eight forums to be held across the province.

This feedback received will be considered in conjunction with the technical review, which is already underway. The consultation lasts until Fri., Jan. 24 and recommendations from the review and a strategy for implementation will be ready in early spring 2014.d
