A BC Safety Authority (BCFA) manager downplayed Tuesday any link between a fire that erupted at the Babine Forest Products sawmill nearly a year ago and the one that destroyed most of the facility and killed two workers 11 days ago.
"Based on my experience, the nature and causes of the fire in 2011 were not likely to have caused an event like we have seen in 2012," BCFA safety manager Stephen Hinde said during a conference call to discuss a report into a Feb. 23, 2011 event.
