Masich Place stadium has closed a few days early because of the recent snowfall.

The stadium was scheduled to be closed for the season on Nov. 11 and will re-open spring of 2019.

Although the brand new track will be closed to the public during the winter, there are some other places around town to get a little exercise for free.

CN Centre has a walking program that runs Monday to Sunday from Oct. 15 to April 5. The program is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Cougar game days).

The Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (888 Dominion St.) also has a walking program. It runs Monday to Sunday, from October to April. The program is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The walking course is unheated, so dress warmly.

Pine Centre Mall also has a walking club, which is free to join and comes with a welcome package that includes a water bottle and pedometer. Every month the club also has a "most-kilometers walked" contest for a $25 Pine Centre gift card. You can sign up for the club here.

The Charles Jago Northern Sports Centre also has a full indoor track, but you’ll need to pay for a membership or the drop-in fee.

If you’re willing to brave the cold and the snow, you can also walk through the many parks and trails throughout Prince George!
