Prince George Fire Rescue responded to an alarm at the Aquatic Centre on Monday night.

Crews from three halls were called to the scene at 8:30 p.m. and found significant smoke in the building's mechanical area.

From there, they traced the trouble to a system boiler that had malfunctioned. The boiler was shut down and crews cleared the smoke.

Patrons had been temporarily evacuated to the nearby soccer clubhouse. They were allowed to return to the pool once the smoke had been cleared.
