Prince George RCMP are investigating a smash-and-grab robbery at Pine Centre Mall early Saturday morning.

Pine Centre Mall general manager Sonya Hunt said around 4 a.m. thieves drove a vehicle through the south entrance of the mall and smashed into Paris Jewellers. Hunt said the use of a vehicle to smash through secure doors is similar to robberies seen in the Lower Mainland.

"We are co-operating fully with the RCMP," Hunt said Saturday morning. "Everything is open, at this point."

A spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP said they are seeking multiple suspects in the robbery, and thieves made off with an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

Police are seeking a red, late-1990s model Jeep Cherokee in connection to the robbery. The four-door Jeep has a B.C. licence plate XAR 353 and is equipped with a ski rack on the roof.

It was reported stolen several days ago.

Anyone with any information regarding this robbery is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300, or can make tips anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).

Tips can also be made online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca or texted to CRIMES (274637) using the keyword "pgtips."
