Small aircraft accident at Prince George's airport sends two people to hospital

Two people have been sent to the hospital with minor injuries following an incident at the Prince George Airport.

Just before 9 a.m. today (Aug. 5), a small aircraft had a runway excursion and ended up upside down and off the black top.

The Prince George Airport Authority Emergency Response team was called out immediately.

When arriving on the scene, emergency crews found the two occupants had removed themselves from the plane and were later transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

Following the direction of the Transportation Safety Board, the aircraft is being removed from the area. 

Fire training, which was scheduled to take place at YXS today, has also been cancelled following the incident.
