The Skills Canada British Columbia's regional skills competition for the Central Interior will be held in Prince George at the College of New Caledonia on Wednesday.
The competition, which starts at 8 a.m., is one of 13 taking place throughout British Columbia. It gives students from Grades 6 to 12 a chance to showcase their talents in the skilled trades and technologies.
"It also is an excellent opportunity to inform students about what it means to be a tradesperson and to guide them toward the professions available in the skilled trades and technology fields," CNC dean of trades Frank Rossi said.
Winners of these regional competitions advance to the provincial finals, held at Tradex in Abbotsford on April 13, where they have the chance of advancing to the national and/or WorldSkills competitions.
The B.C. winners who advance to the national level competition will be recognized at the annual Skills Canada-BC gala.
