Two sisters from Quesnel were sentenced Thursday for roughing up a local woman they suspected of trying to start an affair with one of the two's boyfriends.
Samone Martha Elizabeth Godwin, 34, was sentenced to jail time served and one year probation and issued a lifetime firearms prohibition and Maranda June Godwin, 32, was sentenced to jail time served and issued a lifetime firearms prohibition.
The sentences were delivered at the Prince George courthouse on convictions of unlawfully causing bodily harm following a B.C. Supreme Court trial last month.
They facing six charges on the matter, including the more serious charges of attempting to choke to overcome resistance and unlawful confinement or imprisonment.
But Justice Ron Tindale had problems with the complainant's testimony related to the Jan. 6, 2015 incident and threw out most of the charges.
Both were also assessed $200 victim surcharges.
