Leah Fell told a lottery retailer to “shut the front door” after discovering that she won $75,000 from a lottery draw earlier this fall.

The Prince George resident purchased the winning BC/49 ticket at 7-Eleven on Austin Road West and was at Real Canadian Superstore waiting to pick up her online grocery order when she decided to check her tickets at the gas bar.

“I scanned this one and thought there was something wrong, so I handed it to the retailer and said ‘I think there is an error,’” said Fell in a news release today (Nov. 19).

“The retailer scanned it and told me there was nothing wrong, that I had won $75,000. I could not believe it! I am still in shock, it really hasn’t sunk in yet!”

Fell says she plans to put her winnings towards a down payment on a house, something she adds has been top-of-mind for a while.
