Police are investigating a pair of similar shootings which took place over the weekend.

At approximately 5 a.m. Saturday morning five shots were fired at a home in the 7900 block of St. John Crescent. The shotgun shots smashed windows and damaged the door of the home, but did not injury anyone inside.

A couple and their four-year-old child were inside the home at the time of the shooting. The suspect is described as a man in black hoodie. Police are searching for a gray Ford F-150 truck which the suspect may have used to flee the scene.

One of the home's residents is "known to police" and RCMP believe the attack was not a random incident.

One long-time resident of the upscale neighbourhood said the family are new residents to the street.

"Most people on this street have been here a long time, these are new people," she said. "It's crazy. I've been here 21 years and there's never been anything like this."

Another area resident said he didn't hear the shooting, but he's concerned about the type of elements moving into the neighbourhood.

"It's concerning. Who wouldn't be concerned?" he said.

Several area residents declined to comment, saying they didn't want to get involved.

The second shooting took place at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday morning in the 2700-block of Quince Street.

Several shots were fired at the home with a shotgun, according to police. Several people were home at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured.

Witnesses may have seen a gray pickup truck leaving the area, police report.

Several residents of the area declined to comment.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
