A man was taken to hospital on Thursday afternoon after it's believed he suffered multiple gunshot wounds at a residence on Northwood Pulp Road (the Hart area of Prince George).
RCMP officers were on scene near the intersection of Northwood Pulp and Clubhouse Drive across the road from the entrance to Aberdeen Glen Golf Course to investigate the apparent shooting.
Police received a report at 3:21 p.m. of a man who appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds to his legs and at least one arm. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and first responders before being taken to hospital for further evaluation and treatment. RCMP weren't able to provide an update on the victim's condition.
"We're still trying to figure out exactly what happened and gather as much information as we can," RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said from the scene.
Douglass was unable to say if the address where the victim was found was previously known to police, or if anyone reported hearing shots fired.
Douglass said he doesn't believe there's a significant threat to public safety because the shooting was likely not random.
"If there is somebody out there that's responsible for this incident, then I guess that would be a concern," Douglass said. "Do we think this is random? It's too early to say, but highly unlikely given the location that it was at it doesn't make sense."
