On Thursday, May 27, you can show your shade of fun and raise money for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB).
To celebrate Vision Health Month, the CNIB is having the first ever Shades of Fun day.
Everyone is encouraged to wear sunglasses to protect their eyes from the sun. Pairs are available for $5 at the CNIB office on 490 Quebec St.
People can help fundraise by making a donation, doing a fundraising activity, and hosting an event with a group. You can make it a family affair or fundraise with friends or coworkers. Whatever you decide to do, the CNIB can help you get organized with tips, ideas, and a toolkit to make it a success.
Every 12 minutes, someone in Canada begins to lose their vision. CNIB's goal is to empower these Canadians with confidence, skills, and opportunities to fully participate in life-- with practical one-to-one support delivered in their own homes and communities.
