The suspect in an alleged sexual assault has been arrested.
A 22-year-old man from Alberta was apprehended Wednesday night, Prince George RCMP said, after a warrant was executed on a 1900 block Upland Street home.
A forensics expert was also called to the scene to gather evidence.
The arrest was made roughly two-and-a-half days after police received a report of a woman living in the same block waking up to find a man in her bedroom with a knife. She screamed and was able fight off the attacker until he fled the residence.
RCMP are recommending provincial Crown counsel approve charges of sexual assault with a weapon, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, break and enter with intent and overcoming resistance.
