Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch this morning for the Prince George and Stuart-Nechako.
The warnings are issued whenever conditions are favourable for thunderstormss strong enough to produce one or more of large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
"Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain," the agency said.
It also advised residents to get inside if they hear thunder in order to avoid being hit by a lightening strike.
