Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a second day in a row.

The notice covers the Prince George, Stuart-Nechako and McGregor areas.

In an update issued over the noon hour, Environment Canada said meteorologists are tracking a thunderstorm that was is just southwest of the Boat Lake recreation area (75 km south of Vanderhoof) and moving northeast at 35 km/h. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

Environment Canada is forecasting a medium chance of showers or thunderstorms starting at about 2 p.m. and lasting into the evening.

On Wednesday, the city was hit with a deluge of rain and rolling thunder during the late afternoon and a few hours after Environment Canada issued a similar notice.
