A witness told The Citizen that a semi truck's brakes screeched before it rounded the corner of Queensway and 17th Avenue too fast and hit a traffic light standard with its moose bumper on Queensway at about 6 a.m. Friday, May 16.
The driver then drove away, said the witness, named Blossum.
Oddly enough, the light remained functioning.
Police were at the scene Friday morning to talk to witnesses.
There were no injuries.
A detour is in place in the area as work continues on a new BC Housing project.
