A jack knifed semi truck and trailer is blocking two lanes of Highway 97 near Abau Creek, Quesnel RCMP said in an alert issued at 4 p.m., reducing traffick to one-lane alternating.
"Road conditions in the area are slick. Please drive with extreme caution and avoid this area until the highway re-opens to full traffic flow," RCMP said.
Meanwhile, a stretch of Highway 16 20 kilometres east of Burns Lake was closed for most of the day Tuesday following a single-vehicle rollover that killed the 18-year old driver and sole occupant.
That section was expected to reopen by 5 p.m. but a second incident at Fraser Lake has closed that area until 6 p.m. Detours were in place at both sites.
