Prince George RCMP and Search and Rescue were searching Sunday afternoon for a missing person in the Nechako River.
But according to the Prince George Search and Rescue's Facebook page, that search was called off Sunday night.
The RCMP confirmed Monday morning that no traces of a victim were located.
RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said police received a call at 3 p.m. Sunday from someone who witnessed an adult male go into the Nechako River near Foothills Blvd.
"Search crews have been out looking, we have our boats out, along with Search and Rescue and our police dogs," said Douglass Sunday evening. "We are also searching the shorelines."
The search operation was based at Cottonwood Island Park.
The person is described as a Caucasian male between 30 and 40 years old. He is approximately 5'11" tall, weighing 210 pounds with dark hair and was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.
Police do not know who the person is and are asking for the public's help if they saw anything Sunday afternoon.
