Calling all Kraft Hockeyville 2012 contenders.

Winnipeg Jets NHL captain Andrew Ladd is asking all B.C. and Yukon communities to join the fun of nominating their community for the title of Hockeyville and the deadline is Jan. 31.

By being part of the contest communities can win $25,000 or $100,000 for improvement to their local arena.

Communities entering the contest before Jan. 31 are eligible to win the cash as well as have a 2012-13 NHL pre-season game played at a local community arena and a special CBC's Hockey Night in Canada broadcast from their community. Four runner-up communities will each receive $25,000 for arena upgrades.

Kraft Hockeyville helps Canadians showcase their communities and celebrate Canada's favourite sport. Through photos and written submissions, entrants demonstrate why their hometown deserves to be named Kraft Hockeyville.

Canadians can register at krafthockeyville.ca by completing an application form to nominate their community and submitting a photo and story (maximum 4,000 characters) demonstrating originality, community spirit and passion for hockey.
