Prince George RCMP remain on the hunt for suspects following the robbery of a Pine Centre Mall jewelry store early Saturday morning.

"It's a priority," Cpl. Craig Douglass said Monday.

"We're putting towards it what we can to remedy that situation and put people in custody."

At about 3:35 a.m., thieves drove a stolen sport utility vehicle through the mall's south entrance and then kept going until they smashed through the secured gate at Paris Jewellers.

After grabbing an undisclosed amount of jewelry, multiple suspects, wearing dark clothing and their faces covered, fled in the vehicle, a red 1995 Jeep Cherokee equipped with a ski, bike or kayak rack on the roof, police said in a statement.

The vehicle was reported stolen on Thursday from a home in the 700 block of Patricia Boulevard. It was bearing B.C. licence plat XAR 353 and may have some minor damage to the front end.

Anyone with any information regarding this robbery is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300, or can make tips anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
