Save-On-Foods' parent company has entered an agreement to purchase all of Zellers pharmacy business including prescription files in Prince George.
The acquisition is part of a deal that will see Overwaitea Food Group OFG) buy Zellers pharmacies in B.C. and Alberta and the The Bay pharmacies in Vancouver, Victoria and Edmonton.
"We're pleased to welcome Zellers and The Bay pharmacy patients to our pharmacies and stores," said OFG customer loyalty vice president Carmen Churcott in a press release.
A transition plan is being worked on, a Hudson's Bay Company official said.
In January, 2011 Target announced it had acquired the lease rights to 220 Zellers stores, including the location in Pine Centre Mall, and has since said it will open a location at the mall by spring 2013.
