Sicamous district councillor Terry Rysz has been nominated as the Conservative candidate in Prince George-Mackenzie for the spring provincial election.

Rysz, who used to own businesses in Prince George and around the northern interior, will challenge Liberal Mike Morris and Bobby Deepak of the NDP for the seat currently held by retiring cabinet minister Pat Bell.

Rysz launchhed Aro Automotive and Industrial Supplies in Vanderhoof and later expanded to include operations in Prince George, Fort St. James and Valemount. He sold those businesses in 1997 and travelled around the world.

"Terry's depth of experience - in business, public and community affairs - makes him a much-valued member of our B.C. Conservative team," Conservative leader John Cummins said in a news release.
