Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad has officially signed on to run in next year's provincial election.
The Liberal representative confirmed through a news release Wednesday he'll be seeking a third term in office. The Liberals will hold a nomination meeting in the riding on Sept. 8.
Neither the NDP nor the Conservatives have yet to nominate a candidate in the Nechako Lakes riding, which encompasses the communities of Vanderhoof, Burns Lake, Houston and Fort St. James.
Rustad received 56 per cent of the vote in the riding in the 2009 election, beating Byron Goerz of the NDP (35 per cent).
The next provincial election is expected to be held on May 14, 2013.
