The City of Prince George's Capital Road Rehabilitation Program will continue this week completing
projects at the Hart frontage road between Arabian and Nordic on July 19 (weather dependant). The work shouldd take approximately one day completing 1.38 lane kilometers of road at an estimated cost of $91,810. Work will also be completed on Cowart Road July 20 (weather dependant) taking one day and completing .972 lane kilometers with an estimated cost of $106,410.
"In 2011, council has committed to a road rehabilitation budget of $3.5 million, up about 2.9 per cent from last year, with 11 capital paving projects identified for improvement," said mayor Dan Rogers. "In addition to the capital program, there is also the road repair budget that includes approximately a million dollars for patching as part of the asphalt maintenance program."
Additionally, in 2012, Council has committed to increase the annual road rehabilitation budget from $3.5 million in 2011 to $3.75 million.
