Mother Nature is set to bring a whirlwind of a day for weather in Prince George.
According to Environment Canada, a mix of sun and cloud will follow early morning flurries today (Dec. 17) at a 40 per cent chance.
Winds will start to pick up around lunchtime to possibly 40 km/h, dropping the daily high from an expected -2 C to -10 C with the chill.
Those same conditions will continue in the evening, but it's after dinner that gets interesting.
Periods of snow are expected to fall in the amount of 5 cm before Friday morning (Dec. 18) as winds will bluster overnight, also at 40 km/h.
The temperature will dip to -9 C with the chill.
The snow may turn into a 60 per cent chance of flurries or rain showers as the mercury rises to 3 C in the morning.
A snowfall warning remains in effect for Highway 97 north of Prince George with about 15 cm of snow accumulating and conditions turning hazardous at the Pine Pass.
