Art Kaehn will lead the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George board of directors for another year.
Kaehn, who was returned as electoral area E (Hixon-Woodpecker) director by acclamation this fall, was re-elected by acclamation to his seat at the head of the district's board table on Thursday afternoon. Kaehn has held the position, which is elected every December among board members, since the end of 2006.
"Thank you for this privilege and opportunity to serve as your chair for the year 2015," Kaehn said, following his election. "I look forward to getting to know all of you - 50 per cent of us are new this year."
Stepping in to the position of vice chair is Crooked River-Parsnip director Terry Burgess. Burgess previously served as vice chair under Kaehn between 2008 and 2011 and was acclaimed as the electoral area G director.
"Once again I'd like to thank you supporting me," said Burgess, who was acclaimed after a a failed nomination for Prince George mayor Lyn Hall by Albert Koehler. Hall was not present and absent directors aren't eligible for nomination. "I, for one, will endeavour to work in harmony with all of the directors as I always have. I've been here a long time and I look forward to the next year."
