Fraser-Fort George Regional District directors approved a $29-million operating budget for 2010 following plenty of wrangling Wednesday over how to pay for the solid waste service.
Property tax will cover $16.1 million of the total budget, $1.6 million more than last year, due largely to a $1.4-million increase in the requisition for solid waste services and a $160,000 hike to the levy for regional 9-1-1.
