The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George holds its next open public meeting this week. The board and senior staff will gather on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the RDFFG building on First Avenue and George Street.
On the agenda is a discussion centred on keeping elementary schools in Salmon Valley and Dunster open in spite of plans by the school district to shut them down. There will also be items pertaining to tipping fees at landfill sites around the region.
The possible establishment of a Chilako River-Nechako Community Endowment Fund will be considered, in the suggested amount of $25,000 in seed money.
Land use issues, fire protection services and the ongoing Summit Lake sewer system project are also on the slate, among many other items.
Anyone can sit in on the open RDFFG meetings, and anyone can address the roundtable of elected officials by registering prior to the start of the meeting.
