Today is a day to show support for Canada's military troops.
The Royal Canadian Legion's fourth annual Red Shirt Marathon starts at 10 a.m. at the Fort George Park bandshell.
Participants can choose to walk or run the two-lap course around the park.
The registration cost is $20 per entry, with all proceeds going to Winch House in Vancouver, which provides accommodations for the families of veterans and first responders while they receive medical treatment or counselling.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the park.
Each participant will receive a red T-shirt to commemorate the event.
Following the marathon at 1 p.m. at Connaught Youth Centre, the 2618 Rocky Mountain Rangers will host their 55th annual ceremonial review. Everyone is invited to watch the parade of troops, which will take place in the field behind the youth centre.
