Mayor Dan Rogers ventured out to Blackburn on Thursday to take a look at the type of house he'd like to see more of within city limits as the result of a rebate program that offers up to $75,000 to defray the cost of making a new home more energy efficient.
After 22 years of living in a rancher in Surrey, Daryl Banks and his wife moved to the community about a year ago and set out to have a home built that's reached an energy efficiency rating of 85, enough to achieve platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standard.
