Prince George RCMP Serious Crime Unit are asking for the public's assistance as they continue to investigate the murder of 44-year-old Vernon Darcy Baker.
On April 11, 2009, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Prince George RCMP were called to a residence in the 2300 block of Victoria Avenue to a report of a stabbing.
Vernon Baker was found on the door step of the residence with a serious stab wound to his abdomen and was transported to the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia where he succumbed to his injury and died in hospital.
Police advise that the weapon used in this murder has yet to be recovered and are asking anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact the Prince George RCMP (250-561-3300) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS where you will remain anonymous but your information could solve a crime.
