RCMP investigating Williams Lake homicide

RCMP are investigating a homicide that occurred late Thursday night in Williams Lake. In what is believed to be a targeted attack, a man died after being stbbed.

Police in Williams Lake are asking for the public’s assistance to help them solve a homicide that happened in that city late Thursday night.

Just after 11 p.m. that night, Williams Lake RCMP responded to a report of a man on Midnight Drive suffering from apparent stab wounds. RCNP officers and BC Emergency Health Services paramedics found the man with serious injuries and despite their life-saving efforts he died of his injuries.

The RCMP’s North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) is now in charge of the investigation and is working closely on the case with Williams Lake RCMP and the BC Coroners Service. Police investigators are asking for any witnesses or anybody who might dashcam or close-circuit footage of the area of Midnight Drive in Williams Lake on Thursday from between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. to contact Williams Lake RCMP at 250-392-6211.

“We are in the infancy stages of our investigation; however, the early indications suggest that this was a targeted attack, although a full determination has yet to be made,” said NDMCU Sgt. Chris Manseau.

No details about the victim were released.
