If you're looking to get out and get some exercise over the holiday season, the Caledonia Ramblers may be able to help.

The club is hosting a series of trips over that time, starting on Saturday with a family-friendly trip to Lost Lake in Beaverly, followed by one to Pilot Mountain on Christmas Day.

For both of those trips, meet at the city hall parking lot at 11 a.m. The car pool fee is $3 in both instances.

On New Years Eve, the club is going to Eskers Provincial Park for a walk along the Camp Lake Loop. Meet at the city hall parking lot at 8 a.m. The car pool fee is $5.

And on New Years Day, there will be a full-moon snowshoe or hike, depending on conditions, along the Hillside trail east of UNBC. Meet at the city hall parking lot at 6 p.m. Car pool fee is $2.

Participants should be properly equipped with a daypack, rain gear and extra clothing, lunch and snacks and something warm to drink. Gaiters and hiking poles and in the case of the full-moon trip, headlamps, are also suggested.

Whether it will be a snowshoe or hike depends on conditions and ice cleats may come in handy.

Membership is $30 per year but newcomers get two free trips before deciding whether to join.
