Third time was the charm for Cynthia Dykhuizen.
In her third attempt in as many years, the grade-seven student from Barlow Creek Elementary School on the outskirts of Quesnel emerged the winner of the Citizen spelling bee at Vanier Hall on Saturday.
She earned a cheque for $5,000 from the Egg Farmers of Canada to pursue an education and will represent northern B.C. at the Canwest Canspelll national spelling bee in Ottawa, March 24-29.
