A six-month-old puppy has a broken leg that can’t be fixed.
That’s according to the Prince George Humane Society, who say ‘Buddy’ was surrendered to him from an undisclosed community in the northern region after suffering the injury and is now in need for an amputation.
“He was bandaged up by a mobile veterinarian; they didn’t have access to x-rays,” explains spokesperson Melissa Ferguson to PrinceGeorgeMatters. “When we took him to the [Prince George] veterinarian and had him x-rayed, we found out that his break was so severe, he would need an amputation.”
She estimates the ballpark for funds needed for the black lab-cross is between $2,500 and $3,000 to cover his medical expenses.
Despite the broken leg, Ferguson says ‘Buddy’ is in good spirits adding he feels ‘safe and confident’ with his new foster friends.
