Pulp mills top newsmakers of the century: poll

During the last Citizen poll we asked, "What do you think was the local story of the century as The Citizen celebrates its 100th birthday?" There wasn't a front runner by very much but 34 per cent of people voted the arrival of the pulp mills was on

During the last Citizen poll we asked, "What do you think was the local story of the century as The Citizen celebrates its 100th birthday?"

There wasn't a front runner by very much but 34 per cent of people voted the arrival of the pulp mills was on the top of the list with 256 votes, while the arrival of the university came in with 27 per cent of the vote for a total of 206 votes.

The amalgamation of Prince George with South Fort George, the Hart and College Heights took 146 votes for 19 per cent of the vote and linking Highways 16 and 97 came in at 12 per cent for a total of 89 votes. The 2015 Canada Winter Games came in last with 54 votes taking seven per cent of the total of 751 votes.

Remember this is not a scientific poll.

Next question is, "Should backyard chickens be allowed within city limits?"
